Listen to "Thus Consumption" While Reading: Hammer Bros have been taking hardcore a step further with their own unique style, blending together thrash metal with the sounds of bands like the Cro-Mags and Sheer Terror. They are known for their fast, intense, in your face sound, that focuses on keeping hardcore hard, angry and agressive. Sharing the stage with legendary hardcore bands such as Madball, Murphy's Law, Slapshot and my favorite hardcore band of all time Death Threat. Hammer Bros have gained a substantial following with the release of "The Vitality" and our sure to grab everyones attention with their new release slated for a fall date. Expect the new record do shred even more than before. Merrimack Valley, Ma Hammer Bros busted out onto the hc scene in late 2003 wanting to create their own blend of hardcore music. Hammer Bros have been taking their music a bit further with their interesting yet unique style of hardcore. Hammer Bros take thrash metal from the likes of Slayer to combine sounds of prototypical hardcore, that is reminescent of the greats Cro Mags and Bad Brains. Fast and intense is what Hammer Bros display in their powerful music. They have this in your face approach that tends to keep you thinking that hardcore is still supposed to be hard, heavy, and agressive. Hammer Bros are not your average, generic, boring hardcore band that you should overlook just because you have not heard much of them. Their metal influenced flavor by Slayer is displayed from start to finish on this record while still maintaining that NYHC sound ranging from bands like Sheer Terror, Cro Mags and D.R.I. Songs that stand out on "The Vitality" are as followed: "Out Of Style," "Boston AM," and "A New Beginning." While Boston AM being my favorite track on the record, the punishing intro to the song makes me want to break everything in site and crush skulls. The guitar sound reminds me of the beginning of the No Warning song "A Day In The Life." Hammer Bros do a great job of keeping you interested with their unique style. "The Vitality" ends with a great song called "Don't Tread On Me." You shall be banned from the scene if you do not know who sings this song. Having played with legendary hardcore bands such as Murphy's Law, Madball and Death Threat, Hammer Bros have gained the respect of people all over the country. Hear that there are some new songs slated to come out real soon so keep your eyes peeled for the release date. Do yourself a favor and check out Massachussets Hammer Bros.
