Rivalry Records has done it again with the stellar release of Soul Control debut 7''. With the addition of Soul Control to the Rivalry Roster, Soul Control adds new flavor to the bands already on the roster. Rhode Island Soul Control manage to sound catchy and entergetic as we were in the late 80s early 90s all over again.

Soul Control add substance of gripping hardcore that has pretty much been non existent this decade in the hardcore scene. Soul Control is heavily influenced frome late great hardcore acts such as: Burn, Silent Majority, Quicksand and 108 to comprimise their own mid tempo sound. Matt from Verse brings intense vocals that give the band jams that are unique yet catchy at the same time. Heavily inspired musically by Burn, you can totally tell the guitar work is catchy and groovy.

This 7'' rips and I can't wait to hear the new songs that are slated to land Sept 6th on Rivarly Records. Soul Control is a band that is going to take over before you know it. Be on the look out for their debut lp in September and pick up their s/t 7'' and split 7'' with friends I Rise, available from Rivalry Records or RevHq.

For Fans of: Silent Majority, Burn, Quicksand, Snapcase
Rating: 9/10
