Listen to "Down" While Reading
![]() The demo tracks are mid-tempo songs almost comparable to their friends in Soul Control but much more heavier. Tracks like Feared, Realism, and the smash opener Burn, leave you with a sense that I Rise is going to be making some noise in the year to come. Pick up their demo if still available from the band via their myspace.com/irisehc. They also have a split 7'' out with Soul Control available from Eightfold Path Records or RevHq. Mid-tempo but powerful hardcore from I Rise.
Down, their newest record that I just picked up the other night at their Anaheim show, has not left my turntable in weeks. While taking influences from the likes of great hardcore acts such as Into Another, Burn, Inside Out and RATM, I Rise is clearly getting attention that they deserve. I Rise leave you with two remix songs off their demo, Burn and Feared, while they add four intense brilliant songs to the rest of the record. They end with a hard hitting song called "Rebellion" which lyrically I think we can all relate to in one way or another. "And you fear us? Rebellion."
Do not want to spoil it so go out and order this record from 1917 records now. Also would like to add that they are on tour as we speak with Verse, Soul Control and Go it Alone, support these shows. Last but not least, how can you not dig a band that talks about drinking kool-aid (Feared) in one of their jams. Only thing that bums me out is that they live on the wrong side of the coast. Give I Rise a listen, you will not be disappointed, thanks.
For fans of: Inside Out, Into Another, RATM.
