In Flames - Colony

In Flames is one of those bands that are just amazing. Although the new stuff Ive heard I havent enjoyed as mush as the old stuff they are still a great band and great musicians. Even if their new stuff isnt as good as the old we can always look back upon their previous masterpieces. Colony being one of those amazing albums.

This is honestly my favorite c.d. theres not a song on here I dont like. I highly recommend this c.d. The melodies are top notch, the drumming, the vocals, this c.d. is simply a masterpiece.

The first song Embody The Invisible is definitely an awesome song. Species come and go but the earth stands forever fast. Its just one of those great songs with great melodies and all around great musicianship that you would come to expect form a band like In Flames. Up next is another great song. Ordinary Story, the first riff is such an awesome riff. Melodic Swedish metal at its absolute finest. So simple yet so genius, its more of a relaxed song , more melodic than death metal, complete with some Piano work but still a great song. And Anders is in full fucking form. His vocals are strong and his singing is well, as good as Anders gets at singing. Up next is scorn. It starts off with some double kicks and your typical melodic In Flames riff that they have mastered so well, another solid In Flames song that even has a breakdown thrown in there for some good head banging moments. Than comes the title track Colony, obviously a fan favorite, its a more mellow song, kind of in the vein of Satellites and Astronauts from Clayman. Than comes Zombie Inc. another great song. Honestly every song on this c.d. is amazing.. Theres no reason for this to be reviewed anymore. If you like At The Gates or Dark Tranquility or new In Flames check this c.d. out. Actually there still is. What am I saying. After that is Pallers Anders Visa which is an amazing instrumental, possibly one of my favorite instrumentals. After that than theres just more amazing In Flames masterpieces. And a couple tracks later comes Behind Space 99 which is the most aggressive track on this c.d. Its very close to the older traditional death metal style. Complete with speed picking and super fast thrash beats, if you were ever wondering what Metallica was talking about back when they wrote whiplash on Kill Em All this song is the explanation. Its just such an intense song and it gets you so pumped and, well fuck. This song is just awesome. If youre too cheap to buy a c.d. than download this one song and youll be convinced. Its super fast and even has a nice heavy ass hell part. FUCK just buy this c.d. Im not reviewing the rest simply because I can only repeat myself so many times. You just need to purchase this c.d.

Seriously, this is just one of those c.d.s that you cant go wrong with. If youre looking to get into this Band than please purchase this c.d. first you will be glad that you did. Its simply amazing.
