The first time I heard Final Fight was about over a year ago. I was handed a spray painted cd with the letters FF on it. It was a four or five song demo, and when I gave it a listen, the first thing I thought was how fun & catchy the music was. Since then Ive seen this band play about four times, and always had an awesome time at their shows, and always wondered when their gonna come out with a full length.

Well the cd is finally here, titled "Under Attack". Upon listening to this cd, I was very happy to hear that they kept a few older songs that were off of that demo from when I first heard them. The next thing I noticed was all the new songs sound alot more dynamic & seem like they spent alot of quality time writing them.

The first song on the cd entitled "Its In The Blood" is a perfect example of how this band progressed. The song starts of with a "poppy" intro, and leads into fast beat, with melodic guitars over the drums. The lyrics to this song are very sincere, speaking about people close to him struggling with alchoholism. The song ends off with really heavy drumming and pissed off vocals, and then soft acoustic guitars.

The song "Dying of Laughter", which is the third song on the cd, is a perfect example of how much Final Fight values there friends and all the people in there lives. If I was asked to choose my favorite lyrics of this cd, I would choose these. "We occupy and island packed with smiles, not scared of this mighty ocean full of lies. Ill never hate the hours that I spent time with this nerdy group of kids that dont give a fuck. Well never be afraid to scream our minds. We laugh at the waves as they crash on us".

It was hard to choose one favorite track off "Under Attack", so I chose two. My first choice would probably be the first song "Its In The Blood". But another choice of mine would be the tenth track titled"Three Years Ago". The guitars in the middle remind me so much of old Shai Hulud, and the rythm and tempo of the song is driving and straight forward, and fails to slow down. The only thing I disagree with on this song is the length of it, way to short for the catch guitar riffs they used.

Everyone should pick this up at one of there shows, and theyll probably have it available online or at your local record store. This is definetly a good buy, especially that it is twelve solid songs.
