Hailing from Rhode Island, Lean first came onto the scene late 2003 early 2004 with an ep called "better days ahead," from bottled up records. I bought this ep late last year sometime because I heard that they were a strong up and coming band from the east coast.
At first listen I was not too impressed with the record, but that soon changed when I disected the record more and more. the demo was solid but the new songs destroy the demo in my opinion. great guitar work, build-ups and lyrics that are not boring like most bands in hardcore.
The new songs are alot more polished and show the maturity of the band from their demo release. To me they almost take some elements of Integrity and blend their own style of music and make fucking awesome jams. I have been playing this ep continously due to the simple nature that this band has their own distinctive sound.
Buy this record, you will not be disappointed one bit. Also if you have a chance catch them on tour, they already have completed a U.S. tour with Have Heart but at the time they only had the demo out I believe. Great up and coming band that you should recognize and the label they are on is top notch. Oh, they have sweet t-shirts too. Pick one up....
