Champion/Betrayed Split

Coming out of Seattle, Washington, Champion brings a mix of inspirational and raw hardcore. This CD, which came out just before Champion said their goodbyes to hardcore, brings a new sound that is just as inspirational as Promises Kept and Time Slips Away. Champion has never failed to deliver, bringing an entire CD full of sing alongs, circle pits, and good times. The live performance given by Champion is a league of its own, playing with so much emotion and energy that even if you don't like the band, you'll be into them. Their three songs, "Now Is The Time", "Break Through", and "What Will It Take?" showcase Champion's years of being in the hardcore scene. These songs are a great way to say goodbye to Champion, a band that has probably inspired most of the people into hardcore today.

Spawning from Carry On and Champion, Betrayed begin their career with high paced, fast, emotional hardcore. This band is fucking amazing. From the riffs to the vocals, this band has never failed to deliver. At Rivalry Showcase 2006, I have to say this was probably the best band that played that night. Their half of this split contains "What You Have Left", "Consequence", and "Bring It To Life". The stand out song on their half would have to be Consequence, which shouts out to everyone that running from mistakes will never make anything better, and regardless of what you choose, there will be a consequence for your actions.
