Nehemiah,
hailing from Minneapolis, have put out an amazing metalcore CD. With
many different influences, ranging from Sweedish black metal to modern
day metalcore, The Asphyxiation Process is a really well rounded CD.
Featuring Dead To Fall's tour guitarist, Logan Kelly, the CD has
excellent riffs and some great breakdowns... |

This CD is a perfect example of pure pissed off hardcore at its best. This is the Hoods first albums on Eulogy records after a long dispute with their former label victory records. The CD opens with there title track "The King Is Dead." This song has everything a good hardcore song should have, circle pit action in the beggining, going into fast paced two-steps, followed by a breakdown that is just asking hardcore dancers to break eachothers noses. |

At The Gates - Slaughter Of The Soul |

"We are blind to the world within us, Waiting to be born."
These simple words started off one of the c.d.'s that would turn the metal world upside down. Not only did this amazing album pretty much start Swedish metal (alongside Dark Tranquility's The Gallery) it was also the c.d. that pretty much put the now highly sought after Studio Fredman and I'm damn positive earned Fredrik Nordstrom a lot of band's and label's money... |

I still remember when I purchased this c.d. I was getting off of school and I went to Bionic (local records store... that I really miss) and I wanted some new material so I was just browsing around. I knew that this c.d. was coming out soon but I wasn't sure when so I wasn't even expecting it. Walking through though I saw "Zombie Apocalypse" well I peed a little bit and after I got over it I grabbed it and bought it for $7.99...

Botch - Anthology of Dead Ends |

Every now and then a band will come around that will totally just blow everyone out of the water and either completely raise the bar for a certain genre or create a new one. And I honestly think Botch is one of those bands. They didn't create the genre but they definitely raised the bar. Personally I place them higher than cave in and converge. But hey that's just me. Anyway, they did what most bands should have done. Quit while they were ahead. |

Opeth. There is just something about this band that amazes me. There's honestly no other band quite like them. They've been around for a long time and since the beginning they've always had their own sound. It seems as they progress they set themselves apart from the faceless masses of bands even more. There's nothing stale about this band or their c.d.'s. The only bad thing I could honestly say about this band is that |

I will admit, I had my doubts about this c.d. Mainly cause I was being close minded and wouldn't give it a chance. But I saw them with Dark Tranqullity, Hypocrisy and Mnemic (awesome show by the way) and I was like fuck, I need to give this c.d. a chance. So I did, and I must say I'm glad I quit being such a prick. There are certain drawbacks to this band though.

This C.D. is FUCKING BRUTAL. I must say I never really liked them but I heard Shitstorm and Love? And I had to purchase this c.d. and it turned out to be a fucking tyrant of a c.d. Its pissed off, its fast, its heavy, its depressed. Its everything you could hope for in a c.d. All the musicians are great; Devin Townsend is honestly fucking INSANE. |

Abominable Iron Sloth - Demo |

Lets face it, even if this band was fucking terrible, they would still be kick ass solely for the fact that their name is the Abominable Iron Sloth. Personally I have always thought that abominable was a drastically under used adjective in the hardcore and metal community. Not to mention the neglect of sloths. Factor in that three of the band members were in will haven, and they are at the very least worth listening to.

In Flames is one of those bands that are just amazing. Although the new stuff Ive heard I havent enjoyed as mush as the old stuff they are still a great band and great musicians. Even if their new stuff isnt as good as the old we can always look back upon their previous masterpieces. Colony being one of those amazing albums.

One of the most under-rated c.d.?s out of their discography this c.d. is a great transition to their earlier death metal days to their final melodic masterpiece Slaughter of the Soul. This may not be one of the most popular releases but it is definitely a crucial release and it should be listened to.

Fuck! Those are my exact words after hearing some of these songs on the c.d. This c.d. is fucking brutal, abrasive as fuck. It's the kind of thing that you turn down when your mom or sweet old grandma comes in just to spare them the audio insanity. Seriously this c.d. will make your asshole inhale. Wow. Hot damn. Hot shit. Hot fuck. |

Hailing from somewhere between life's darkest, yet most enlightening moments is Ottawa's very own Buried Inside. Showcasing a sound that is as beautiful as it is downright fucking brutal, Buried Inside manages to take the listener along on a 40 minute ride through 10 tracks that work more as one full melodic metal opus, rather than seperate songs. |
