Philly's Blacklisted need no introduction to the hardcore scene. Heavy hitting Blacklisted return with "Peace on Earth, War on Stage" proving once again the band is here to stay with four songs that will crush you. In April or May it was thought to believe that Blacklisted was calling it quits. Turns out they decided to stick it out, and this is the best news any Blacklisted fan will want to hear. |

Rivalry Records has done it again with the stellar release of Soul Control debut 7''. With the addition of Soul Control to the Rivalry Roster, Soul Control adds new flavor to the bands already on the roster. Rhode Island Soul Control manage to sound catchy and entergetic as we were in the late 80s early 90s all over again. |

Down To Nothing: The Most |

Many people acclaim that the album is hardcore greatness, but I didn't really see it. "Splitting Headache" heavier than their previous album (mentioned above), was even a bit shorter than the record before. Now part of the huge Revelation Roster Down to Nothing released their third lp that most doubtlessly is their best work to date. |

Permanent are the best melodic harcore band out right now. Virginia hardcore outfit Permanent busted out five songs on their previous 7'' titled Sleeping, (available through RevHq) that was released last March on a smaller label called Rise and Fall Records. |

Worcester, Ma I Rise bust out with their brand new 7'' Down on the so cal based label 1917 Records. Let me start off by saying that this is my new favorite hc band out today. I received their demo (four songs) some months ago and instantly I was blown away. I told myself "this band is doing something new and fresh that will get notice as soon as they embark out on tour and play shows across the us. |

The Devil Wears Prada: Plagues |

The metal scene has been overflowing with repeat sounding bands for the last year or so now. It feels like once Job For A Cowboy hit it big, everyone who heard them and was thinking about starting a band went ahead and did it, mimicking what they had heard on forerunner’s albums. Soon, every demo and release had the classic “four B’s”, Bass drops, Breakdowns, Bree’s, and double Bass kick. It gets so ridiculous that you can |

Of course Final Fight never fails to impress me. Whether it be listening at work, in the car, or seeing them live, your always wanted to rock out. The passion behind the lyrics and the solid drumming/guitar work makes them one of the most impressive hardcore/punk bands to come out of California in the past few years. |

“Dead Under Décor” from Bleeding Kansas was an album I was highly anticipating and was even planning on seeing in my top picks of 2006. With production by Kurt Ballou which was sure to give the album a Midas touch, and having seen the band live a few times, I figured they were sure to churn out a masterpiece with their first label release under Abacus Recordings. The album however almost reaches excellence, but falls short by a few notches and has left me slightly disappointed. |

I know I'm late on getting this album. Holy smokes this album is sweet!, I've been missing out. It's fast, melodic, fun. I've liked Sinking Ships since "Meridian" came out but this album "Disconnecting" takes them to a whole new level. |

Another Breath's "Mill City" is one of those albums that satisfy you instantly, and you know that your gonna enjoy the whole album. It's some of the best melodic hardcore I've heard, with dramatic vocals that match and compliment the guitars riffs and the tempo of the songs. |

Death Knows Your Name is a huge step forward for Hope Conspiracy. I've always been a fan of Endnote, but this release blows Endnote away in every aspect. And being recorded & engineered at God City Studios by the infamous Kurt Ballou, you know its gonna come out solid. |

Hailing from Rhode Island, Learn first came onto the scene late 2003 early 2004 with an ep called "better days ahead," from bottled up records. I bought this ep late last year sometime because I heard that they were a strong up and coming band from the east coast. |
