Philadelphia's Blacklisted should require no introduction as they have been one of the hardest working bands in hardcore since they began in 2003 with relentless touring and constantly pushing out great releases. "Heavier Than Heaven, Lonelier Than God" is their 2nd full length and follow up to 2007's standout 7" EP "Peace on Earth, War on Stage." |

First off, I just want to say that the record layout is awesome. Great artwork and gatefold LPs are always awesome. I'd been anticipating this record heavily since I began to consider "Vicious Skin" one of the best things that came out in 2006. This record did not disappoint for me. It is slightly more metal tinged than "Vicious Skin" in my opinion. |

Ignorance from Maine feature former members of Drug Test and Our Last Stand coming together blasting four demo songs of blistering and in your face inspired hardcore in the vein of early Agnostic Front, Madball, and American Nightmare. The demo shreds at a pace somewhat similar to bands such as Cruel Hand and Let Down but still leaving that sense of urgency for the crucial sing along and dance part. "Psych 101" and the track to follow "I Bleed Slime" lyrically pour out to the hatred of human mankind and society, kids who come and go in the scene, and everything in between. |

When I first busted out "Involution" onto my record player, immediately the new riffage and blend they added with the guitars, to go along with heavy bass lines and drums stood out instantly. Rythmitic bass and guitar from previous efforts do not stand close to the riffage on the first two songs "On Survival" and "Involution." |

Merrimack Valley, Ma Hammer Bros busted out onto the hc scene in late 2003 wanting to create their own blend of hardcore music. Hammer Bros have been taking their music a bit further with their interesting yet unique style of hardcore. Hammer Bros take thrash metal from the likes of Slayer to combine sounds of prototypical hardcore, that is reminescent of the greats Cro Mags and Bad Brains. |
