Reign Supreme are one of the hardest metallic hardcore bands to hit the planet in recent memory. Hailing from the city of brotherly love, Philadelphia, former Blacklisted guitar player Jay Pepito handles the vocals for this devastating band. On Feb 19th Reign Supreme released "American Violence" on Malfunction Records, which now is a division of Deathwish Inc. family. This record sent shock waves through the hardcore community displaying punishing rage from start to finish. This record truly is changing the shape of heavy music as we know it today. Easily one of my favorite bands going, I recently had the chance to talk with Jay about "American Violence," and other news happenings that is going along with Reign Supreme. Hardcore lives!!! |

In 2006, after making noise with some east coast shows, Meltdown captured the hardcore community with their Demo 7'' which was released on the Rock Vegas and Trash Art! labels. Earlier this year, Meltdown released their punishing "Demolition" 7''EP/CDEP on Malfunction/Closed Casket Activities. This record undoubtedly put Meltdown on the map as one of the most brutal, fierce metal/hardcore bands on the planet today. Meltdown are a vicious monster who don't shy aways from their metal influences one bit, Meltdown embrace it full on. I recently caught up with front man Pauly Edge to discuss upcoming Meltdown plans, his favorite mosh moves and other related band stuff. |

Written by Steven Schaefer I Rise is one of my favorite current hardcore bands out today. Worcester, Ma I Rise play a gnarly mid-tempo, yet powerful display of hardcore straight like it was the mid 90's all over again. Drawing influences from 108, Inside Out, Burn, Into Another I Rise have proven there here to stay with their intense live show and powerful lyrical content displayed in songs like "Feared, and "Rebellion." I got a chance to talk to Nicky (singer) about where I Rise is heading into the new year as far as writing a new lp this winter and upcoming tours the band has planned. This band has not one band song to date and I am eagerly awaiting new material asap. I would also like to note I Rise supports really shitty hair. |

Hammer Bros have been taking hardcore a step further with their own unique style, blending together thrash metal with the sounds of bands like the Cro-Mags and Sheer Terror. They are known for their fast, intense, in your face sound, that focuses on keeping hardcore hard, angry and agressive. Sharing the stage with legendary hardcore bands such as Madball, Murphy's Law, Slapshot and my favorite hardcore band of all time Death Threat. Hammer Bros have gained a substantial following with the release of "The Vitality" and our sure to grab everyones attention with their new release slated for a fall date. Expect the new record do shred even more than before. |

The substantial creativeness and intensity of 108's music has meant a lot of things to a ton of people over the past decade or so. Bursting out on the scene in 92, the four years following saw 108 tour the US and Europe while releasing three devastating Lp, an Ep, and songs throughout different compilations. With guitar player leaving a few times to get heavily involved in studying Hinduism in 96, 108 was no more. 108's music grabs your attention with emotional, political, inspiring songs that leave you wanting more. Nearly a decade later in February 2007, 108 recorded, "A New Beat From A Dead Heart," to be released on the almighty Deathwish Inc in late June of this year to remind 108 fans what we have missed all these years. |
